When you are assessing a piece of gear and you are a noob disregarding really important aspects of the interface because you don't think certain performance characteristics apply to you, is a mistake.ĭigital Pianos - Electronic Pianos - Synths &a. The obsession with getting the Lexicon while using bad reports on it to justify getting it got to me. If Stephano plans to do any multi-tracking, then of course latency will be important, but I can't see how if the interface will be for recording only, with no monitoring of digital material from the computer. There is no misunderstanding, I read all your posts, that's why I wrote what I did.Īt least I got you off the Lexicon, so that's a good thing:-} FWIW I would lean towards the SteinbergĮmenelton, I'm also puzzled as to why you think Stephano ought to worry about latency when he clear!y states he'll be monitoring direct (zero latency) while he records. My only goal with the interface is to make quality recordings through it's input. I won't be using the output on an interface. Latency is not relevant to me because I'll be monitoring through another output on the digital piano. There seems to be a misunderstanding, or maybe you didn't read several of my posts in this thread. Latency is so important of a detail, too important to assess the way you do. It's 106 euro on Thomann, but I have a 15 euro discount there, so getting a brand new one for 91 euro instead of buying used on eBay is somewhat appealing.ĭefinitely a wiser choice than the Lexicon Alpha, no?
I assume, based on the lack of negative feedback on recording DP with the interface, plus tons of positive reviews on Thomann, that it would be a good buying decision. It's interesting that basically all of the complaints on the forum, except one which was resolved by getting proper cables, all have to do with using the interface together with virtual piano, something irrelevant to me. I guess those who are satisfied with the card won't be posting so you're likely to read more about problems than praise for the unit - still, you can see what you're up against! I searched 'scarlett 2i2' - ignore the first few returns which seem to be dealers. The search button on the left near the top of the screen gives quite a few results with feedback (don't bother with the forum's own search button, it's poor). Can anyone here share their experience with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2?
